I have no idea how many of you knows about the food blog Cafe Fernando, but you are now about to learn it for sure.
We haven't met face to face yet, however I see no matter to name Cenk -the author of Cafe Fernando- as my friend. In fact I was just one of the readers of his blog. Yet it didn't take so much to feel as friends to me because of his friendly, and sincere personality.
On the other hand I must confess that his personality is not the only reason of my feelings about Cafe Fernando...
Cenk with an education completed at the University of San Francisco on MBA program is now representing at his family-owned advertising agency. Food is not his profession, but his love -and may I call it a miracle addiction?
With the love of food, and skill of advertising Cenk is not only food blogging but also does his best to let the world learn much about Istanbul, and Turkey.
The New York Times elected world best cities on different categories, and Istanbul was selected for the "Foodie Destination 2008" by Cenk's contribution, and the interview with him was also published on The NY Times.
And now Cafe Fernando is on The Washington Post as one of the popular food blogs. Famous cookbook author, and one of the best pastry chefs, Nick Malgieri had sent an e-mail about his coming article about food blogs, and asked Cenk if he would also help him with some recipes as Cenk says on his blog.
In the end Cenk's blog, Cafe Fernando was on yesterday's the Washington Post, and was introduced on the same chart with Dorie Greenspan of whom Cenk is a fan.
I do congratulate my 'friend' on his success, and also thank to him for carrying the name of Istanbul to foreign press in anyways on behalf of myself.
As I said him before Cenk is something 'more' than Dorie Greenspan in our hearts! :)))
Go on boy!
Note: Cenk writes his blog both in English, and Turkish. However he hasn't write about this news on his English blog yet. So maybe you are reading it here for the first.
